The sash window weights that we supply have a 10mm hole all the way through the centre of the bars themselves. This is so that the sash weights can be cut down to the exact amount that is needed to balance the sash weights.
as a company that deals with sash windows we will give you a bit of advice when you are measuring up for the sash weights. Usually the top sash is 2 lb less than the bottom sash, This is because there is more woord and they are normally just slightly bigger in height.
The best way to balance the sashes is to overweigh the top sash by 2lb so that the draught-proofing if it is installed actually does not stop the window from moving all the way to the top expecially when the sash frame may not be square. with the weight being slightly over-weight than the window will actually want to physically go to the top of the frame. just a wee tip there.
Sash weights in stock
- 32mm square bars 600mm lengh 13.2 lb equals 45mm per lb
- 35mm square bars 365mm lengh 9lb so that would be 18lb at 730mm but this would be 2 bars around 40mm per lb
- 38mm round bars 600mm lengh 15.4lb equals to 41mm per lb
- 40mm square bars 700mm lengh 24.8lb = 28mm per lb
- Add on weights sold per lb
- Other sizes/ weights are available on request or weights cut to size
The sash weights are £2.00 per lb plus VAT.
Discounted square bars only if you buy full bars of 4 – 9 more than these will be discounted £1.90 per lb plus vat and 10 or more discounted even further please call for more details.
